Singapore’s longest fully underground MRT line – Cross Island Line (CRL – CR108) will be linked to existing MRT lines for seamless connectivity
The Cross Island Line (CRL), spanning over 50 kilometres long, will be Singapore’s longest fully underground MRT line when completed in 2030. The eighth rail line will have the highest number of interchange stations in Singapore and will be linked to existing MRT lines for seamless connectivity.
Serving residential and industrial areas in Loyang, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Hougang, Serangoon North and Ang Mo Kio, the CRL will be linked to major hubs such as the Jurong Lake District, Punggol Digital District, and the Changi region.
Construction works for the Pasir Ris station on the CRL are slated to start in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Aurecon has been appointed as the lead consultant to Daewoo Engineering & Construction – Dongah Geological Engineering Singapore Branch Joint Venture (DDJV), which won the contract from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) for Contract CR108.
The contract valued at approximately S$980 million, comprises the design, construction and completion of Pasir Ris Interchange Station, cut & cover (C&C) tunnels, bored tunnels from Pasir Ris Interchange Station to Pasir Ris East Station, a launching shaft for tunnel boring machines (TBM) and Alterations and Additions (A&A) to the existing Pasir Ris EWL Station.
Aurecon worked closely with DDJV to put forward an optimised design proposal which leverages digital tools to ensure the design will be carried out efficiently, effectively and safely.
The team will be working closely with the contractor on the detailed design of civil structures, architecture, mechanical and electrical works during the design and construction phases of the project.
