So, in this case we tried to incorporate and eliminate each function to an open space area that suitable for our client’s needs.
From an open space concept, we put the first floor as the main area that has lots of function as a living and dining, it only separated by foyer as a sequence of way from the entrance. Then we choose the central part of the house to be the inner courtyard for comunal area and also for kids outdoor playground. We placed glass sliding door as a room connection set up to bring tranparancy between the indoor and the outdoor area. The glass sliding door placement also bring spacious room experience to the user, maximize air cross ventilation ,and sunlight.
A very close connection between each function of the area also applied at the second floor. A big void to connect the atmosphere between two level create an optimal cross ventilation, as a house that located in tropical climate place a good air flow design is an important things to create a pleasant living space. At the second floor we can see more raw material look by the conrete structure that create pattern from tie rod and form work panels when concrete casting processed
Besides an optimal and functional room layout making, one of the interesting things from this house design process is how to create a simple facade but still has a unique look between the other house in the residential. We tried to cultivate a geometric shape, then substract a part of the shape for the window opening to avoid an excessive sunlight, considering the orientation that leaning to the east. Then add a steel strip frame as an accent between concrete domination material at the façade.
