PDS Office is an office located in Bantul, DI Yogyakarta. It was designed for designers and developers who engaged in UI UX Design. Ruangan ASA designed the interior with informal office space to encourage the creativity.
The ground floor interior is designed like a home, that consist of lounge, living room, dining room, kitchen, powder room and storage. In the entrance, we put lockers cabinets for workers and has a function as separates rooms between dining room and the lounge so this area has its own privacy eventhought it is not closed. The lounge is made like a stage so that there are different dimensions in one space and the flooring changes to signal for a different function.
Living room is designed with put the big sofa with the television for to rest and restore the mood to work. The owner also helps reinforce the design with put his plant collection and make the area looks more comfortable. In the powder room, we put cicle mirror and plant to create different geometry.
The first floor is filled with working area which faces the glass in the each side to maximize movement in the room and one of the side has view to watching people activites in the rice fields. The other feature in the first floor are musala, sitting area, toilet, and bedroom.
The PDS office is unique, that is, the owner likes to keep animals, especially cats. There were several cats that stayed with them, moving around the room and mingling with the people working upstairs. The top floor is filled with a work area facing glass on each side to maximize movement in the room and one side has a view to see people's activities in the rice fields. Other features on the top floor are a prayer room, sitting area, toilet and bedroom.
Another uniqueness is that the owner lives in the office and has hobbies such as playing music and decorating plants. Owners also need a workspace, wardrobe and sleeping area. So, we have to create space to accommodate activities in one room. Lastly, in the bedroom we created a mezzanine space: a downstairs area for the workspace, wardrobe, a place to play the piano or guitar, and plant decorations, while the upper part is for the sleeping area.
The design approaches the layout of the space by creating a collaborative space that maximise efficiency space without sacrificing personal space. Creating the productive workplace in the office can improve convenience and benefits office.
