To enhance community connectivity, the Corporation is committed to provide external lifts connecting between station concourse and street level at those stations which currently do not have such facilities. The Corporation has completed the retrofitting of 9 external lift in the past years. Out of the 96 MTR stations in the system, 94 of them are located either at street level or equipped with external lift connecting between station concourse and street level. The retrofitting of external lifts at the remaining 2 stations are also under construction.
