Rina is a Californian Bungalow from the burbs. She was ideal for her owners – a young family from Sydney with style.
When we met Rina, her makeover had already begun. Fortunately, her clever owners were quite handy themselves; facade restoration had breathed life into the house and some interior touches had given her a spark. But this was just part of her owners’ grand plans.
The proposed extension takes on a more contemporary vibe to juxtapose beside the old. This area will house the new kitchen, dining and living area with a strong connection to the outdoors; and particularly their nectarine tree.
Retaining the Reservoir character, albeit with a modern twist, was crucial to Rina’s owners. Materials and fixtures were therefore chosen for their texture and patina.
