The Garden is a Casual dining restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta, Indonesia. The design concept behind The Garden is " Lush tropical garden with colorful flower " which derived from the real garden in indoor area with the feeling of being outdoor. The challenge is to create hidden gem lush garden which located at the shop houses. To give the illusion of the location, not being just one of the many uniformed shop houses on that row, giving it distinct features. The concept for this restaurant is to attract people, so that they are feeling like they are dining in the middle of a garden. The architecture, interior and landscape design of The Garden is merged all together, with the feeling of going back to nature, using all natural natural materials and plants. A Garden warehouse architecture with splashes of rich tropical colors and plants designed specifically to blend with the surrounding nature. Digging a little deeper into the concept, the building itself is positioned at the center of a literal beautifully designed tropical garden. To top it all off, the building plan of The Garden is intentionally designed as an open plan space, eliminating the boundaries between the indoor and the outdoor. The Interior is blend in with the lush tropical garden.
The restaurant is divided into seven main spaces; Corridor Foyer Entrance, The Main Dining, Bar Dining, Void Dining, Garden Dining, Secret Dining @ Basement and Mezzanine Dining. First step entering the restaurant, customers will have to walk through the lush tropical corridor garden, awakening the senses with the beautiful greeneries and the smell of nature with some gardening equipment. Arriving at the restaurant's foyer, customer can see the restaurant's two main areas, Main Dining area and Bar . Natural materials like bricks, wood, natural stone and terracotta tiles, all blend together into one key design element which makes for a warm and cozy ambiance to the dining experience.
In the middle of the restaurant there is a void dining area to the basement secret garden which is the center point of the restaurant. This void has one dining garden corner as a transition from the first floor to the basement secret garden. The basement secret garden area is a hidden bar and lounge with the concept underground bunker garden.
Garden Dining is located at the backyard of the main dining area. The overall layout arrangement of the garden dining area is more grid and geometric , with long communal bar table, sofa at the terrace and garden bench dining concept in the middle of lush garden, the garden dining located at the back side of the restaurant, Surrounded by the tropical garden below, the colorful furniture flower accent, terracotta tiles and cobalt stone floor, bricks wall all over the main wall and the warehouse roof structure with skylight for the natural light. Not to forget, the lush flowering garden and plants , people will truly feel like they're in a lush tropical garden.
The Mezzanine is located at the second floor is significantly smaller than the first floor, mainly because of the existence of the big void overlooking the first floor's dining area. The second floor's dining area has no boundary separating the view to the first floor, making people in it feel even closer to nature. There's a wall dominated with bricks wall, and has green recycled wood as an accent. There are also a neutral element in the ceiling, a raw recycled wood ceiling to keep the balance of the entire restaurant. Other than the dining area, the mezzanine also has a sofa lounge corner and The seating arrangement of the mezzanine dining area is more communal, while the first floor area is more free and casual.
