Fifteen architecture students won a total of RM 35,000 worth of prize money for their architectural designs in the fifth edition of the Architecture Prize.
Hosted by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), in collaboration with Z&SR Architecture Ventures Sdn Bhd, the award ceremony was held at PAM’s headquarters on 2 March 2020. Attendees included students, invited guests and members of the architectural fraternity.
Over 60 entries from architectural students over nine accredited architectural universities in Malaysia entered the competition. It aims to recognise architecture education in Malaysia and incentivise students to elevate to the next level of their education, as well as to encourage networking and interaction among architectural students.
“It is the mission of PAM, the professional body for architects in Malaysia, to enhance the knowledge, appreciation, and practice of architecture, especially among architectural students. We hope this contest that has been conducted over the last five years has helped students grow in their understanding and interest in architecture,” said Lillian Tay, PAM President.
The competition was divided into two categories: students who have completed their architecture programme (Part I) and those who have completed their first year in Master of Architecture (Part II).
