The cube composition is a significant representation of the Third Dimension as it establishes the creation of Space. This pavilion is designed by Qhawarizmi Architect, named Cubicity for its obvious shape and location in the heart of the city. Crafted from ribbed aluminium panels containing 90% recycled content, the pavilion will be recycled again for future applications. Its temporal nature ensures easy disassembly for recycling, aligning with the principles of a circular economy where every component is re-purposed or recycled at the end of its life.

Ministry of Design (MOD), the interior designer, aim to unify the corporation legacy of corporate professionalism with a future-forward attitude that embraces change.

Rumpun at Happi Village is an accommodation in Janda Baik, a natural gateway located one-hour-drive from Kuala Lumpur. Spread across a five-hectare land with lush forest and gardens, the accommodation hosts a dozen of guestrooms and several facilities. Instead of using the natural setting as a backdrop, the living spaces are nested in it and so the two become inseparable.

Although terraced house often represents a mass production for dwellings, there are many ways design intervention could give this building typology a more personalised touch. Bewboc House by Fabian Tan Architect displays an interesting design intervention to a young family’s terraced house in Kuala Lumpur.

Among the typical home office buildings in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, the office of Mantab Group stands quite prominently thanks to its gleaming gold-coloured façade. Hovering over the second floor of the building, the metallic façade wraps the front-facing part of the building with its folded surface. Yet, in contrast with the grandiose façade, a modest and small timber finished box figure stands next to it, marking the entrance to the office.

Sitting on a generous 3,500-square-metre land plot, House68 is a private residence that tries to integrate its surrounding natural feature seamlessly. The architecture firm, Design Collective Architects (DCA) takes a bold viewpoint of how a building in the tropics should be, “Tropical architecture is not to shield and protect the users from the elements but to enhance the experience and bridge the relationship between them.”

Be it in a kitchen’s corner with plenty of natural lighting or on the whole rooftop area, edible home garden is regarded as one of the easiest and most effective way to introduce sustainable living to the masses.

In the northeastern part of Kuala Lumpur, real estate development with semi-detached houses were the norm for some twenty years ago. Although houses were built with quite a spacious outdoor area for each lot, the division of the outdoor and indoor area were apparent. Eleena Jamil Architect had the chance to renovate one of these units and create better connection of the house interior with its surrounding.
