Then, how do we set the proper lighting for bedrooms? Some studies say that sleep will be of a higher quality if someone sleeps with no lights on; and that dim light is preferable than bright light.

To create a comfortable ambience when you sleep, dim the light and make sure that the switch is within your reach when you are ready to sleep and have to turn it off. Lamps with warm white, yellow, or reddish light are the most appropriate choice. This lighting choice can also be supported with the right wall colour to create a perfect reflection in the room.

The type of lighting matters
Other than the colour, the type of lighting also matters. A dim impression and warm ambience can be easily created by the use of spotlight, pendant, or table lamp. Make sure that the direction of these types of lighting are not facing your sleeping position

On top of that, the placement of the lamp is better to be hidden, which is better known as indirect lamp. Lights can be hidden in the ceiling area, above the curtains, behind the headboard, above the cabinet, or even below the bed. Direct lamp as central light is optional, as long as it can be turned off when you are sleeping.
