Taizhou Fish Market

Nestled in the western precincts of Jiaojiang District, Taizhou, Zhejiang, the Taizhou Fish Market enjoys a prime position along the river's northern edge. This project is intricately woven around the theme of "fishing" culture, harmoniously integrating elements of cultural tourism and leisure.

Spanning 135,500 square meters, it features 213,000 square meters of built space, including a cold storage warehouse, wholesale markets for aquatic and dry goods, an exhibition hall for yellow croaker, waterfront commercial areas, retail outlets, office spaces, and a multi-storey car park.

Vision
By capitalizing on the development potential presented by Taizhou’s Jiaojiang District's "One River, Two Banks" initiative, the project aims to seize the opportunities of a new era in aquatic trade. The ambition is to establish an international, high-standard, and refined fishing-themed industrial and cultural tourism complex that fosters a profound integration of fisheries with tourism, education, culture, and wellness sectors.

Commercial Strategy: "Tourism Driven by Industry" (以產帶遊)
The Taizhou Fish Market will honor the unique character of Taizhou’s fishery industry, leveraging this identity as a driving force for commercial and tourism activities. Building on the concept of "Tourism Driven by Industry" (以產帶遊), the project envisions the creation of a remarkable landmark, propelled by a "dual engine" of specialized industry and cultural tourism.

Master Plan: "Southern Industry, Northern Tourism" (南產北遊)
A major urban thoroughfare borders the southern edge of the site, providing convenient access for transportation. This southern area houses substantial industrial buildings, including a wholesale aquatic market, car parks, and cold storage facilities. The market hosts 426 operators, comprising 132 permanent stores and 294 mobile stalls, specializing in frozen and "ice-fresh" seafood. Efficient operations are supported by well-defined traffic flows, enhancing access and connectivity to regional networks and ensuring advanced cold chain management.

To the north, the project integrates with the "One River, Two Banks" waterfront landscape, featuring small-scale, block-style architecture and open spaces that foster a vibrant commercial interface. This zone includes two commercial plots along an impressive 800-meter riverfront, creating a lively gateway for visitors. Covering 70,000 square meters, it offers thematic food and beverage outlets, experiential facilities, cultural attractions, and diverse commercial functions. Integrating the seven essential elements of tourism, it establishes Taizhou as a global culinary capital, highlighting its rich seafood culture.


This comprehensive layout is termed "Southern Industry, Northern Tourism" (南產北遊), anchored by The Fulcrum, a central activity square that connects various elements of the project. A second-floor viewing platform offers visitors insights into the vibrancy of aquatic trades, exemplifying "Tourism Driven by Industry" and solidifying the Taizhou Fish Market's status as a cultural and tourist destination.
