Great news! Our Southport Sharks Hotel project won in its category for McNab Constructions at the Master Builders Awards on Saturday night.
Graeme McKinnell, Sam Shepherd and Louise Hamilton-Gainey attended the awards, all 3 of them having worked on the project. Others who worked on this project included Tim Field (Landscape) and past employees including Alex Hoffman and Honeyeh Morvarid, amongst others.
The project had involvement from Architecture, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture Disciplines.
Located within the Sharks Football Club precinct this 120 key room hotel provides a sophisticated 4 Star hotel destination on the Gold Coast.
Inspired by the undulating site topography and the Club’s identity, the hotel creates a striking entry statement for both Club and Hotel. The reception and foyer are conceived as a contemporary take on the Queensland verandah forming a shady cool connection between the new Hotel and the existing Club main entry. Three room types are provided over four levels with suites located at the ends to maximise views out over the playing fields and towards Surfers Paradise. The top level is an open rooftop bar providing a unique outdoor space for relaxation, functions and informal entertainment. Designed collaboratively between GroupGSA Architecture, Interiors and Landscape disciplines the Hotel is operated by the internationally renowned Mantra brand.
