About Jim Hong Architect
Jim Hong Architect (JHA) has been established in Kuala Lumpur since the year 2000 as a Sole Proprietorship Practice. JHA is a medium size practice consisting of 6 to 7 personnel of whom 3 are qualified architects (including myself as the principal) and 3 to 4 draught persons and others. JHA has undertaken various projects, ranging from residential bungalows to high-rise residential and commercial buildings as well as medium to high-end high-rise buildings. Not only has JHA undertaken projects involving architecture and interior design work, but also project management and design and built projects (especially corporate office interior design). We collaborate closely with all office personnel to achieve our task in completing the project, and we out source our work as and when necessary. However, in most projects the principal architect is totally involved throughout the whole process of the work from inception to completion, including following up with relevant council department’s approval, coordination of consultant’s work, attending and organizing all relevant meetings and to obtain the Certificate of Fitness of Occupation (CF). JHA design mainly deals with post modern design to other types of architecture. However, JHA has the agility and adaptability to cope with current trends and rapid changes in the future of the design world and of the economic cycle. In other words, JHA is capable of handling any challenges faced along the road. In addition, JHA is able to provide quality professional services from our output in architecture ideas as well as our design and quality of completed buildings. In our rapidly changing built environment, JHA is not only able to design and to adapt to these changes, but most importantly, JHA takes into consideration to understand local culture, political influence and design direction, ensuring that our client and users become part of the design process. Current projects undertaken by JHA have also taken into consideration of eco-friendly design and hopefully these projects on board may also achieve the Green Building Index. Not only will these buildings gain tax incentives provided by the government, but most importantly we aim to design buildings that have lesser negative impact to the natural environment.
