Simon Chua, Co Founder & Executive Director, presented ‘Smart Cities: Mini Cities in the Making’; sharing his expertise on new smart city design strategies.

As cities evolve and change over time, Simon shared his views on how emerging technologies and the rise in innovation is having one of the biggest impacts of our cities – from enhancing health and safety, to convenience, connectivity and quality.

“Mini Cities is a strategy transforming our expanding yet denser urban environments. Creating new hubs, these neighbourhood-scale developments prioritise three-dimensional connectivity, digital and physical integration, multipurpose environments and a sense of community to create more resilient, diverse and liveable cities,” explained Simon.

As part of the presentation, Simon shared two Lead8 project case studies, totaling over three million square meters, which showcase how the mini cities approach is changing the future of Bangkok and Shanghai.

The World Smart Cities Expo was hosted at the Korean International Exhibition Centre from 4 to 6 September.
