The Bank Australia Moe project involved a complete refurbishment of the interior spaces with some external work. A real driver for the design was to provide a modern fitout focused on staff wellness and member interactions aligned to Bank Australia’s key drivers for environmental sustainability. Further to this, Bank Australia installed a solar farm on the building’s roof cementing their commitment to sustainability.
Internally, the existing 500m2 banking branch was significantly redesigned as a 120m2 contemporary branch to the standards set by GroupGSA + Artillery for the Bank Australia retail network. This provided new opportunities to dramatically improve the remaining interior spaces for new staff facilities and increased staffing numbers to support Bank Australia’s ongoing commitment to employment in the LaTrobe Valley.
A large internal light panel was provided over the refurbished internal stair and planted vertical wall, acting as a connector and focal point for the shared breakout spaces. The upper floor breakout links to a new outdoor deck for staff use. Both floors include new and improved opportunities for staff collaboration, meeting spaces and complete refurbishment of the aged amenity areas. This focus on spaces for people has resulted in improved staff enjoyment and many positive comments on the success of the project.
