Crow House is a rear extension to an existing Californian Bungalow in Melbourne’s inner Western Suburb of Albion. We decided to take advantage of the wide block and the charming yard landscaping by designing the rear living zone to embrace the yard and, in contrast with the darker ‘old’ section of the house, is filled with light and air. The client brief was that they wanted quality and attention to detail with a hardy finish. The client said she didn’t want to rush through with a mop each time her dog walked through the house; so the design, along with the material selection have been chosen with that end in mind.
