In 2003, with the completion of the land reclamation project at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Western Corridor Port, the new city coastline appeared on the city map of Shenzhen. It not only provides rare coastal space resources, but also becomes an important carrier to carry the overall development intention of Shenzhen Bay area in the future. Under the background of the city's active expansion and the scarcity of incremental land at that time, the city once considered further reclamation in the Shenzhen Bay area. However , in the design competition in 2003 , facing the fragile and cherished estuary-shaped bay resources shared by Shenzhen and Hong Kong , the project team clearly and loudly proposed the limited development concept of shrinkage and definition.
Project thinking and technical characteristics
The thinking of this project is based on the analysis of the particularity and conditions of Shenzhen Bay, and is carried out with the change of demand and in-depth research. Shenzhen Bay Park has important and fragile ecological sensitivity, and at the same time has the connection and influence of the boundary between urban and natural elements, and has been forgotten by people for a long time due to its marginal isolation. The landscape features are ambiguous but the need for use is urgent. Responsible for the cost and time constraints of the implementation of public projects, the project is no longer a simple design proposal, but a repeated comprehensive coordination, trade-off and trade-off between many realistic conditions and ideals. Shenzhen Bay Park has also become one of the turning points and milestones in the history of urban development.
This is a ten-year service period, from the bidding to the implementation of the whole process project, from the initial simple task of sorting and restoring the urban municipal engineering boundary into public space, to the final comprehensive restoration of the Bay Area natural ecosystem plan, To connect and realize the coastal life of the general public, and then to the urban green network and public activity space improvement plan further proposed by the future project team. The Shenzhen Bay Park project has continuously updated and realized the public values and urban ideals at different stages in the whole cycle of bidding, design, implementation and use feedback.
main content
1. Interpretation of needs
Comprehensively interpret Shenzhen Bay from a more objective and broad biosphere perspective, taking mangroves, migratory birds and people as the three most important demand subjects. And as the basis for formulating planning and design goals.
2. Theme and System Design
Design keywords include: " bay " , " mountain " , " tidal flat " , " scale " , " cycle " , " connection " , " place " , " landscape " , " character " , " ecology " , " culture " and " progress " .
( 1 ) To build a common ecological system with complete form and function in Shenzhen and Hong Kong - the Shenzhen Bay Grand Park System. Protect native species, maximize the creation of regional landscape characteristics, and protect regional ecological security; restore green planting, use " mangroves " or other native wetland plants as the medium between land and sea, and create a wetland-themed Shenzhen Bay landscape; complete The cultural landscape of the Bay City will form a world-class Bay Ecological Park.
( 2 ) Create a public coastal zone with a clear concept - connecting people and nature, paying attention to and realizing the connection between land and sea, city and nature, and designing an intermediate zone that both city and nature abide by and has a special urban landscape symbol. Enhance accessibility through traffic design and eliminate the distance and estrangement between people and the sea; optimize the shape of the coastline according to the theme of the coastline, provide near-water activities and ways to participate and feel the landscape; provide a variety of sea views, From the perspective of viewing the city, it highlights the status of the bay as the main body of viewing; the realization of the connection of places will lead differentiated individual activities (such as gathering, staying, and movement) and people from the city to the waterfront area.
( 3 ) To provide an urban area with vivid characteristics— introduce colorful cultural activities, create a strong attraction of places through urban design, environmental landscape remodeling and event planning, and complete the extension of the main urban public space to Shenzhen Bay, The penetration of the natural ecological environment of Shenzhen Bay into the deep areas of the city. Create and improve the urban public service support system; use its special location to encourage the combination of individual functional units, strengthen the cultural characteristics of immigrants with differences and compatibility, and allow the interweaving and collision of various life forms. A series of " urban cultural events " , including architectural culture, sculpture culture, wetland culture and urban leisure culture, express Shenzhen's open urban style, and support and enrich the leisure activities and urban cultural connotation of Shenzhen people.
3. Hydrological Research and Water Environment System
The design focuses on the ecological protection of Shenzhen Bay, and takes ecological attributes as the primary premise of landscape design in the coastal area. Hydrology and water quality measurements are successively carried out; a large-scale physical model of Shenzhen Bay is built, and research on hydrodynamics and mangrove ecological environment is carried out. Finally, after repeated experiments with the hydrodynamic model, the reclamation scale and shoreline shape of the coast found a balance between the degree of impact on the ecosystem and the need for necessary public space expansion. Design is not only the pursuit of aesthetics, but the artistic expression of science.
