Situated in a prime position overlooking the beautiful Pumicestone Passage in Moreton Bay, the Seaside Museum celebrates the history of the island and the birth of Queensland’s Tourism Industry. The new museum provides a unique, contemporary recreational and educational hub for the local community and tourists.
Engaged by the Moreton Bay Regional Council, PDT Architects created the museum to complement its surrounds, producing a design that is subtle yet striking. With natural shades and simple finishes throughout, these highlight the museums’ exhibits. A feature bulkhead provides sweeping views to the landscape and beach beyond creating a sense of transparency, space, light and a strong connection to the site.
