Located in Toli-Toli Indonesia, we created a workshop and community hub for the local waste management community. This project is initiated by Bugi.Verein - as part of Indone- sia-Germany cooperation program.
The semi-outdoor new building consists of two main areas; the southern side is designat- ed for a communal area including a workshop area, a pantry, a multipurpose room, and a cafe; while in the northern side, there is a ma- chine room to store a pyrolysis and a crusher machine. Between the two spaces is a corri- dor that connects the front yard and the river across the building.
The building is protected by a gable roof that lifted a little from the beam to create a light and floating effect, where the filigrant roof frames left exposed so it can be seen from the interior.
