Sometimes Very often, we get asked to do quick proposals by our Clients for sites that they are interested to purchase. They would come to us and ask us to do massing proposals so that a quick feasibility could be done on the viability of the purchase. Not that we’d like to do it, but what does happen is that we have a whole “cupboard” full of options that have not seen the light of day.
In this case, back in 2011, there was a fantastic plot of land that bordered RSGC in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, that was up for sale. We did a quick exercise, and we suggested big units with large floor areas to maximise the feasibility of the site. Also, this was because the allowable density was also quite low.
What was memorable about the project was that it was eventually influenced by stacking lego blocks. Duplo bricks, to be exact. In the midst of seeing the stacking of the blocks, we managed to refine our final proposal. After all, if we couldn’t have fun designing, why bother anyway, eh…
