Testament to the talents and insights of a collective of 35 architects, interior designers and master planners, bureau^proberts has been recognised with 48 Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) awards. Three projects have also been among the shortlist of the World Architecture Festival Awards. Most recently, our work on Walan — a high-end, multi-residential project — was named Brisbane Building of the Year by the AIA’s Queensland Chapter. Walan is located in Kangaroo Point, and capitalises on its idyllic location overlooking the Brisbane River. Nearby, the SILT apartments provide further evidence of the practice’s ability to deliver design that surprises and surpasses expectation. In Australia’s capital, the National Police Memorial (a collaboration with Urban Art Projects, UAP) fulfils our practice’s vision: To design meaningful places that not only perform a function but facilitate meaningful human connections. Globally, Wahat Al Karama is among our most lauded projects. Located in Abu Dhabi, Wahat Al Karama is an internationally significant installation and pavilion by  bureau^ proberts and UAP in collaboration with internationally recognised artist Idris Khan. Here, visitors and locals experience the practice’s prowess in blurring the lines between art and architecture.
