On May 24th 1841 the first gas light was lit in Sydney, bringing the streets of a small colony to life with the World’s first street light network outside of Europe. Power from the network came from the Millers Point Gasworks – located on the site of Sydney’s iconic Barangaroo development.
177 years later, Barangaroo is once again leading Australia into the future as a beacon of design excellence and one of only 19 projects around the world chosen to participate in the C40 Climate Positive Development Program.
Sustainability is at the core of every development decision with the goal of becoming Australia’s first climate positive precinct of its size.
“The design excellence at Barangaroo is the result of significant planning and commitment, led by an outstanding team of design specialists.“
– BARANGAROO DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
Design excellence is another guiding principle for the 22-hectare site and Bradley is proud to be part of the team, supplying a range of customised grab rails for all three towers.
Part of Bradley’s commitment to the architect’s vision for the project was customisation of virtually every piece – with thinner rails, minimalist flange design, built to spec lengths and unique designer finishes.
Bradley’s ability to work alongside architects to provide bespoke solutions on time and within budget lies at the heart of the successful development relationship.
Over the three towers and hundreds of bathrooms, Bradley’s accessible range is helping ensure Barangaroo is a place that everyone can enjoy.
With a target to support some 23,000 permanent jobs and 3,500 residents, adding more than $2 billion a year to the NSW economy, we don’t want to overstate our part in the team. But we’re humbled to be part of such an historic Sydney landmark and proud to say we’re helping keep it on the rails.
