NZ’s first Codemark-certified metal roof: Kingspan KS1000RW Trapezoidal roof panel

Why did Kingspan Insulated Panels apply for CodeMark certification on KS1000RW trapezoidal roofing? Simple really; if the question is: what’s the highest level product certification available in the NZ market? the answer is clearly CodeMark: a government-approved certification that must be accepted by local authorities when granting building consents (as long as the product is used in accordance with the certificate). For Kingspan, it was a no-brainer.

Having supreme confidence in the product helps, and Kingspan KS1000RW is an easy product to back. With an in-use history of over 20 years and in excess of 15,000,000m2 manufactured and sold by Kingspan globally each year, it’s been tested in all environments and it works. 

The Codemark process was undertaken with SAI Global, who evaluated all parts of Kingspan’s business and processes from production and quality systems through to installation details, and against the both the Australian and New Zealand building codes. 

Although Codemark is still gaining traction within the construction industry, this is a step forward in Kingspan’s commitment to the New Zealand marketplace and is consistent with its other industry leading certifications: FM Global, GreenTAG Gold and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
