Kiara North by Meriton is a mixed use development in the bushy hub of Mascot, NSW.
Designed by award winning architects Turner, the elegant three-tower, 13 level development features nearly 600 Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows.
The louvres were incorporated into the design similarly to a previous Meriton project. They enclose the lower balconies to create a winter garden space, a popular feature for suburban living.
Regardless of how home owners or tenants prefer to utilise the balcony, enclosing the area creates a useful additional room or a productive and private outdoor space.
Safetyline Jalousie louvres provide up to 86% free air when open so natural cross flow air ventilation is still achieved and the amount of airflow can easily be adjusted by opening the louvres at different angles.
When closed, Safetyline Jalousie louvres have an air tight seal with an infiltration of just 0.12 L/Sqm/S. This performance rating is 12 times better than similar products which means that heat and essentially energy is not lost during cooler weather.
In addition to this, the louvres assist with noise control, a critical element that was considered in order to create a healthy and comfortable environment for human living. The architect specified 6mm toughened glazing which when incorporated into the Safetyline Jalousie system achieves an impressive weighted sound reduction of 33Rw.
Meriton has become Australia’s largest and most reputable developer having built, sold and leased over 75,000 apartments which are synonymous with quality and luxury. Safetyline Jalousie were thrilled to be a part of Kiara providing the ideal ventilation solution that delivered on aesthetics, functionality, weather protection and noise reduction.
