The Inglis family have a long established history in the field of thoroughbred auctions. After 100+ years located in their Newmarket facility, Inglis have relocated to a new purpose built facility in Warwick Farm, south-western Sydney.
Designed by Timothy Court & Company, the purpose built facility documented by nettletontribe includes a 144 room 5 star boutique hotel, multi-purpose sales arena, and horse stables. The facility, located next to Warwick Farm Racecourse, is planned around a central spine that links the 11 stables to the sales arena, allowing patrons to view horses and auctions from multiple vantage points around the grounds.
Utilising a rural aesthetic in an urban environment the form of the hotel references and acknowledges the stable vernacular that is deeply associated with Inglis and the historic Newmarket facility. Recycled materials from the previous headquarters, as well as Inglis family memorabilia, were incorporated into the interiors designed by CHADA, preserving the history and culture of the company.
