300 place student hostel at New Asia Campus
This project involves the construction of a multi-storey building, providing 300 hostel places, living accommodation for warden and tutors, common space and support facilities. Set in the rural hillside context, the design concept is a number of curvilinear blocks interlocking and spreading over the contour. The proposed building bulk and height minimize visual impact to the surroundings, particularly the sight line to the neighbouring feature, New Asia College Water Tower. The various spaces (hostel blocks, multi-function hall, study rooms, recreational areas) are connected at different levels of the complex, leading the users experience the architecture and landscape from different perspectives.
