Blossom, an international Asian cuisine restaurant, is one of the many restaurants that sets foot in Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore. As a 550-square-metre space, its footprint is rather miniscule compared to the vast and extensive lobby where it is located. Many restaurants in this case, whether in large hotel lobbies, shopping mall atria, food courts, or airports, are usually designed to be as open as possible. These restaurants are common to be only bounded by low partitions, which usually function to demarcate the dining space so that it does not interfere with the overall circulation.

Two years ago, when MRT Jakarta and many of the now-opened public spaces in the city had not yet existed, the idea of hanging out and strolling in some parks were deemed peculiar. With most of the public parks in Jakarta being gated, rarely maintained and poorly lit in the evening, parks were not the place of choice for people to spend their time. Parks, like those surrounding Monumen Nasional, were only popular on weekends or holidays, and people preferred to be in an air-conditioned mall, whiling their time away.

Kaveling kecil dengan pemandangan sekitar ke arah perkampungan dengan tipologi rumah tinggal dan lanskap yang masih asri, juga berbatasan langsung dengan pagar perumahan mewah.

Apa yang Anda pikirkan saat pertama kali mendengar kantor partai politik? Bagi Delution, kantor politik khususnya di Indonesia memiliki kesan yang kaku, tertutup, tidak bersahabat, dan membentengi diri dari lingkungan masyarakat. Mungkin konflik yang sering terjadi baik di internal ataupun eksternal partai serta demo masyarakat menjadi alasan utama kantor partai terkesan seperti benteng dan tertutup. Padahal, secara filosofis hal tersebut sangat bertentangan dengan nyawa sebuah partai politik dan konstituennya yang merupakan masyarakat itu sendiri. Partai Golkar DPD DKI Jakarta, selaku pemilik proyek dan salah satu partai tertua di Indonesia berniat untuk melakukan suatu revolusi untuk menjadi partai yang lebih modern, transparan, kolaboratif, dan terbuka sehingga dapat menarik perhatian generasi muda yang tertarik dengan dunia politik untuk bisa berpraktik secara langsung. Tentunya semua visi itu harus sejalan dengan bangunan kantornya yang merupakan wadah utama aktivitas serta “wajah peradaban” dari partai politik ini.
