Shepparton Law Courts takes out international award
22 October 2019 by Architectus
Inspired by heritage brickwork and the iconic Australian red gum tree, the Architectus-designed Shepparton Law Courts has taken out gold and silver in two categories of the International Project Management Association’s (IMPA) annual global awards.
Receiving global praise for its sustainable design and contemporary take on the traditional courthouse, the Shepparton Law Courts was awarded gold in the ‘Construction, Engineering & Infrastructure’ category, and silver in the ‘Social, Regional Development & Community Services’ category.
Designed by Architectus and developed in association with project management consultants Ontoit for Court Services Victoria, the Shepparton Law Courts has received extensive support from the local community and provided a quintessential landmark for the town of Shepparton.
The awards are hosted annually, this year presented as part of the IMPA’s 31st World Congress, with a theme of “Integrating Sustainability into Project Management”. Ontoit accepted the award at the ceremony in Mexico for their role in delivering the management services of the $73 million redevelopment.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who contributed to this iconic structure, and to those that worked tirelessly to bring the perfect blend of modernity and tradition into this courthouse design.
