Shanghai, China – September 10, 2019 – BASF has announced the winners of its Startup Engagement Program recently launched in Asia with Bosch (Shanghai) Smart Life Technology Ltd, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and NIO, a multinational electric vehicle company headquartered in China. The program aims at providing a unique opportunity for digital innovators to create innovative solutions using BASF’s advanced materials in the fields of future mobility, smart city, smart home, and Internet of Things (IoT).
BASF, together with its partners, selected 6 out of over 5,000 startups identified by Price Waterhouse Coopers, to present their breakthrough concepts for applications including the transportation, industrial and consumer industries.
“We believe innovation and technology can address some of the biggest challenges in our society. Together with promising business innovators, and backed by our material expertise, competences and strong R&D network, we can fuel their creativity and explore possibilities for new products and applications,” said Andy Postlethwaite, Senior Vice President, Performance Materials Asia Pacific, BASF.
Among the selected startups, FlyingWings and Sensoro received the Partnership Awards for their household robot and fire security IoT solutions. Also, TMiRob was recognized with an Innovation Award for its concept of smart robots for hospitals.
BASF and FlyingWings are collaborating on a household robot project based on BASF’s innovative material solutions. Through the Startup Engagement Program, BASF will continue to work with different partners and business innovators to explore opportunities across technology, supply chain, business models and investments.
TMiRob was recognized with an Innovation Award for its concept of smart robots for hospitals.
Sensoro received the Partnership Awards for their fire security IoT solutions.
