Saint-Gobain Group, the world’s largest building products manufacturer specializing in the design, production and distribution of functional and sustainable materials for the construction, industrial and consumer markets, has received an award for being named Top Employer Asia-Pacific 2016. Saint-Gobain was certified as a “Top Employer Asia-Pacific” at a recent ceremony held in Shanghai, and it is the first time Saint-Gobain has received this continental honor with the participation of its companies in Japan, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. This year, just 10 outstanding companies have been certified as a Top Employer Asia-Pacific. Besides this superb continental achievement, this is the third year for Saint-Gobain to be certified as a “Top Employers China”.
Javier Gimeno, General Delegate, Asia Pacific, said, “On behalf of management and all of our staff at regional Saint-Gobain business units in South-east Asia including Gyproc, Weber, Sekurit, Abrasives and Performance Plastics, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude at the bestowment of this Top Employer Asia-Pacific 2016 accolade. It demonstrates that we have our Saint-Gobain HR procedures, policies and environment just about perfect here in SEA, and we continue to provide and improve on a great workplace for our employees. Our team is our heart and soul, and so a world-class HR strategy is something we continue to work very hard at to achieve. We are extremely proud to have placed in just ten companies to receive such an honor in 2016.”
The certification was issued following on-site validation of the Group’s Human Resources policy & strategy and priorities, practices, ownership, measurement and technology support. The Top Employers Institute globally certifies excellence in the conditions that employers create for their people. They believe that optimal employee conditions ensure that people develop themselves personally and professionally. This in turn enables companies to grow and to develop.
The six stages in the certification program included a HR Best Practices Survey, Validation of the provided answers, Audit from an external auditing firm of the Top Employers Institute’s procedures, processes, systems and data. From this, final scores are calculated and can then grant Certification, Communication of Certification outcomes to participants, and Insights and Feedback.
As the major part of the certification process, the HR Best Practices Survey covers all aspects of the HR topics, including Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning, On-boarding, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Career & Succession Management, Compensation & Benefits, Culture and Talent Acquisition.
