Also known as the ‘Triangle North of Manila’, Trinoma opened in 2007 and is one of the trademark malls of Ayala Malls. Located along EDSA corner North Avenue in Quezon City, the project involved DCCD for two engagements in 2002 and 2016. In 2002, DCCD provided detailed engineering design services for the mall’s structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. In 2016, North Triangle Depot Commercial Corporation contacted DCCD for the provision of mechanical engineering consultancy services for the comprehensive assessment of the existing air-conditioning system. The original air-conditioning system, an Ice Thermal Storage System, was changed to a conventional system to cope with actual mall operations.
The consultancy services provided focused on identifying solutions to address the concerns on the performance of the existing air-conditioning system in providing cooling throughout the mall and tenant areas. In addition, an equipment and system performance validation was conducted with the inclusion of a comprehensive audit of the existing installation.
