Location: Canggu, Bali
Status: Completed
Build area: 300m2
If you remember Urchin in Seminyak then it will have been happy days to see this gem open its’ doors. From the Chef that brought you Urchin, Steven Skelly, UNI is a casual fine-diner specialising in seafood.
Working from an existing space of a previous restaurant, we completely redesigned the building and interiors. We were also in charge of overseeing the construction and renovation as well as sourcing all materials, furniture, and fittings.
Close attention went into every detail of the space, from the tiles to the artwork (by French artist Yaz). Most things were made and created by local talent, including all custom-made lighting designed together with our partners at Studio Nimmersatt and green design by Larch Studio. There were just a couple of imported extravagances – handmade bottle green bar tiles from Japan and soft acoustic ceiling panels from Germany.
The result is a grown-up but easy-going dining space. One where you can go for dinner with friends and end up drinking Japanese whiskey at the bar until late, just as easily as you can go for a romantic date with the other half.
You can find out more about UNI on their website and Instagram page.
