The university calls for a more fitting facility to greet its students and visitors. At a glance, this space feels like entering a lobby of a high-end hotel, until you see the school’s name proudly welcoming you to the right place. The area allocated for the reception hall was originally an abandoned portion of the 1950s building that has long been unutilized. From a dark obscure storeroom, the reception was designed to have a bright and modern institutional feel yet pleasant and intimate like a hotel. Along the main hallway, translucent roofing was used to allow daylight to come into this windowless area. Around 80% of the floor and wall tiles used for this project were stockpile of the client for an unrealized project. Other finishing materials and furniture used were scouted and acquired from Manila.
