About SGS Designs Landscape Architecture
SGS DESIGNS is an established landscape architectural firm with a track record that includes the Mall of Asia, exclusive Ayala residential developments, institutional projects nationwide, as well as outsourced work overseas. The practice was started in 1998 by landscape architects, Neal Samac, Leo Gonzales, and AG Sano, after working for a number of years under various firms including that of National Artist Landscape Arch. Ildefonso P. Santos. The firm started with a few institutional grounds and residential work and quickly built up a local clientele. In 2003, however, partners Samac and Gonzales left for China, and handed the stewardship of SGS Designs to its present managing partner, Vic L. Dul-loog. He is a graduate of the University of the Philipines in landscape architecture and is currently taking up Masters in Tropical Landscape Architecture. Dul-loog has steered the company to be one of the top practices in the country, providing the following services: comprehensive landscape architectural planning, site selection and analysis, master site landscape planning, landscape amenity, furniture and structure design, and construction supervision. SGS’ credo, says Dul-loog, is “to reclaim what was lost and to protect what is left.” He explains that this credo “has always steered us to design with the laws of nature and with concepts of sustainability in mind, using modern and environmental-friendly materials and construction methods.” In terms of style, SGS strives to produce contemporary yet enduring landscapes, with the goal for every project, “to enhance indoor and outdoor spaces, where users can enjoy the beauty of their surroundings, whether built or natural.” Our company has worked with the country’s leading real estate developers, including Ayala Land, Inc,; Avida Land Corp; Cebu Holdings, Inc,; Citihomes Builders Development, Inc.; Landco Pacific; Masaito Development and SM Group of Companies. Over the past few years the company has expanded its reach with outsourcing work for key projects in India, China and Singapore. Backed with years of experience, both local and foreign, the SGS team is well equipped to collaborate in a wide range of projects types and services. Some of the firm’s completed works are: the Sonera at Ayala Southvale; Avida Residences and Avida Settings in Cavite; Avida Communities in Quezon Province and Naga City; Amara North in Cebu; and Alegria Hills in Cagayan de Oro. SGS has also done collaborative projects with Urbis Philippines with the SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall Redevelopment and SM Pampanga. The group also did institutional designs for Naglagbong Geothermal Science Park in Tiwi, Albaya; and the Development Academy of the Philippines, Pasig and Tagaytay complexes. Recently completed works include the St. Benedict Church in Silang, Cavite; Alegria Hills Chapel in Cagayan de Oro City; and E-bloc at Asiatown IT Park and Amara Sports Facilities, both in Cebu City. At present, the firm is working on planned communities in Cavite, Batangas and Laguna, which includes Nuvali for a number of Avida communities, and Santierra by Ayala Land Premiere.
