A “just completed” 14 storey office A&A building in the CBD. Objective was “to replace the unsightly perforated mesh* façade with something modern and nice” and “make the (banal) Atrium space more attractive”, were basically “The Brief” to AgFd.
The need for a “naturally ventilated” façade led to the concept of a “hanging garden” with a “Layered-glass façade” specially designed to integrate the plants to provide an “indoor-outdoor” (and vice versa) environment. Physical and visual connectivity of the 7 storey atrium and pavement/road levels are also seamlessly aesthically integrated with plants “well being” achieved via auto irrigation, lighting systems and maintenance access to all plants (and façade) seamlessly integrated into the design.
