This residential project for a small block in Balwyn North was designed in very close collaboration with the clients and future occupants. The brief was clear in its intent to produce spaces that were protected from the public realm whilst guaranteeing a strong connection between internal and external areas.
The intent to produce solid volumes was achieved through the use of two distinctive materials: brick and timber. The ground floor has a strong massing element and thus creating a solid base for the lighter, timber volumes that rest above.
