Cinta Sayang Resort Villas comprise a series of double-storey semi-detached houses and double-storey link bungalows with modern contemporary design and a nature-inspired concept of living.
For this project, we were tasked with providing a complete design-and-build service for some minor architectural improvements and interior renovation works for a double-storey link bungalow with a built-up of 3,000 square feet, a large compound on the front and both sides of the house and a car porch for three cars.
The owners, a young family, wanted a creative rework on the house and requested for us to customise the layout of each living space to make them functional and permeable.
The idea was to have a warm and modern home where public spaces are easily accessible from one room to the other and private spaces to have their own identity.
A bold, mature and masculine direction became the main design concept for the house. Materials such as chrome steel, metal elements, natural stones and marble bring elegance and a sense of structure to the spaces. This is balanced off with feminine elements in the form of organically-shaped ornaments and furniture to soften the primary design approach.
In the children’s room, a custom made play area is suspended on the ceiling, accessible only by a ladder and secured at the side with nets and wooden panels.
This creates a playful and adventurous vibe for the children while at the same time, provides sufficient space for a small table and several children’s chairs. Each room is designed with wall shelves, glass cabinets and wardrobes with plenty of built-in storage for an organised, neat and clean environment.
