About Archi-Union Architects
Founded in 2003, Archi-Union Architects is a Shanghai-based architectural design firm with a Grade A design qualification certificate issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Archi-Union adheres to the combination of traditional Chinese culture and digital construction technology, focusing on "parametric construction", "robot construction" and "green industrialization," and practices the symbiotic relationship of nature, urbanism and architecture. There are currently more than 70 designers in the office. Past projects include Linear House-Jiujiantang in Shanghai, Lanxi Curtilage in Chengdu, Taisheng Garden, Jade Museum, Shangart Gallery on the West Bund, Fab-Union, Chi She, Hefei Baishang Street Mixed-use Project, Shanghai Stomatological Hospital, Songjiang Art Campus, Aux Campus (Shanghai) and others. The business scope for the office includes comprehensive design services for projects in architectural design, urban planning, landscape design and interior design. Archi-Union design team focuses on applying experimental research to practical projects. The combination of theoretical research with design practice is a major feature of the company. Projects have been published in architectural magazines and media such as Time+Architecture, Architectural Journal, World Architecture, Urban Architecture, Design Trends Arquitectura Viva, ABITARE, Architectural Digest, PLAN, ID, Dezeen and Archdaily. In 2018 Archi-Union was invited to represent China in the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2018 the Architektur Galerie Berlin invited Archi-Union to show recent work and research in a solo exhibition. In 2017 the office was invited to participate in the Chicago Architecture Biennale. The office is actively involved in relevant academic activities; it has been invited to participate in the Hong Kong Biennale, Shanghai Biennale, Milan Triennial and many other international professional exhibitions.
