Design Vision
Tim Neve’s vision for Hipwell Haus was to create a sophisticated yet inviting family home that marries contemporary design with the building’s historical character. Known for his dynamic textile, furniture, and spatial designs, Neve sought to infuse each space with unique elements that would resonate with his followers and inspire creative interiors.
The Living Space
For the living area at Hipwell Haus, Tim selected the EcoSmart XL900 bioethanol burner, praising its sleek, modern design and substantial length, which perfectly balanced the warm and inviting vibe of the space. The matt black finish of the elongated fireplace added a sophisticated, contemporary edge, making it a standout focal point in the room.
“One of the standout focal points in the living area at Hipwell Haus is, without a doubt, the stunning [EcoSmart] fireplace.”

Installation
The installation process was seamless, as the EcoSmart burner required no wiring, chimney, or flue.
Tim created a nib wall wrapped in large-format natural travertine stone tiles to house the burner, ensuring both a fireproof surface and a gorgeous outcome. Once the framing and tiling were complete, the burner easily slotted into place.
The effortless installation and the burner’s clean burning bioethanol e-NRG fuel made it an ideal choice for a family home, offering both aesthetic appeal and practicality.
"Ecosmart has truly thought of everything, from the easy refuelling system to the safety features that make lighting the burner simple and stress-free. The burner runs on that ethanol fuel which is clean-burning and low-odour, which is what you want for a family home.”

Enhancing the Space
The EcoSmart XL900 burner not only provided warmth but also contributed to the overall aesthetic of the living area. Positioned in the open-plan living and dining zone, the fireplace helped define the space, adding depth and personality. Tim’s thoughtful design elements, including natural light and layered textures, complemented the fireplace, creating an inviting and cosy atmosphere.
