In recent years, China has actively promoted technologies that integrate various energy sources and storage solutions to enhance energy efficiency and achieve carbon neutrality. The 22nd edition of Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT) will be held from 9 to 12 June 2025 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, focusing on green and low-carbon advancements in intelligent buildings. This event will run concurrently with the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) and will showcase products and technologies related to smart power distribution, smart lighting, home automation, smart hotel systems, and low-carbon intelligent buildings.

In mid-2024, the Chinese government issued a series of opinions to encourage the application of intelligent technologies for driving the green and low-carbon transformation across various industries. This includes developing low-energy buildings, advancing new power supply systems, and promoting sustainable lifestyles. The National Development and Reform Commission, along with other departments, introduced guidelines to support the widespread application of green building technologies in the building and clean energy sectors, aiming to create a healthier living environment.

Ms. Lucia Wong, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, stated: “The rapid advancements in 5G communications, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the metaverse are driving innovation across the industry. As a leading communication platform, GEBT will highlight new opportunities in low-carbon intelligent buildings and smart power distribution to facilitate a smart industry ecosystem. The 2025 edition will feature dedicated zones showcasing cutting-edge energy-saving and low-carbon building technologies for a more sustainable future.”

New Exhibition Zones Highlight Energy Innovations

GEBT serves as a premier platform for cross-sector collaboration, capitalizing on long-term opportunities in intelligent building and low-carbon transformation, fostering green innovation to enhance efficiency and sustainability. This year’s edition will introduce thematic exhibition zones featuring innovative low-carbon building technologies:

Smart Power Distribution Zone: Exhibitors will present smart power distribution systems, hybrid power supplies, integrated power generation, and renewable energy supply and distribution systems.

Generic Cabling Zone: Focused on the application of generic cabling in intelligent buildings, home automation, and IoT technology.

Building Control and Energy Management Zone: Showcasing building equipment monitoring, energy saving systems, and new energy and energy storage technologies.

To facilitate effective information exchange among industry professionals, this year’s fair will introduce the Intelligent Building Supply Chain Consulting zone.

Engaging Forums and Conferences

GEBT will collaborate with Qianjia Smartech to host a series of forums addressing various topics, including AI applications in intelligent buildings, dual-carbon strategies, and home automation. Featured events include:

China (Guangzhou) Integrators’ Conference 2025: This conference will bring together integrators, government procurement officials, project managers, architects, and low-voltage contractors to discuss how intelligent system integration can enhance industry efficiency.

Low-Carbon Intelligent Building Summit 2025: Focusing on the integration of low-carbon trends with intelligent building technologies, topics will include AI applications, energy-saving strategies, and innovative integration in intelligent building automation.

Emerging Trends & Highlights in Intelligent Building 2025: Under the theme of “New Product, New Technology, and New Solution,” this forum will explore user recognition through technological empowerment and innovation-driven development.

Additionally, the fair will host the AI + Low-Carbon Intelligent Building Summit, discussing AI business models to support green technology transformations.

Promoting Cross-Sector Cooperation
In 2025, GEBT will continue to promote cross-sector cooperation, providing a professional platform for exhibitors to showcase their cutting-edge innovations and services while facilitating industry transformation.

The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and GEBT are part of Messe Frankfurt’s Light + Building Technology fairs, with the next major event scheduled for 8 to 13 March 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Messe Frankfurt organizes several trade fairs for the light and building technology sectors across Asia, including Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology and Shanghai Smart Home Technology. Their events also cover markets in Argentina, India, Türkiye, the UAE, and the USA.
