Pasta by the Park Offers An Al Fresco Dining Experience for the Park's Visitors
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Jakarta sees the rise of outdoor public space. Taman Literasi Martha Tiahahu is one of the places that emerges as an oasis to the people of Jakarta. It creates a new place to dine in that also serves as a public library in the middle of the city.
Pasta by the Park is located inside the park, offering an al fresco dining experience for the park's visitors. The unusually curved plan of the bare existing area becomes the main attraction of the site.
The indoor dining area is separated from the outdoors by floor-to-ceiling glass. A round skylight is applied to add more connection to the outdoors.
The existing features are amplified by an organic kitchen bar and dine-in seating designed curving around an olive tree. The olive tree can be experienced differently upon entering, ordering, and dining in, depending on where customers stand.
Representing the brand's casual and authentic concepts, warm yet restricted colour palette and unrigid forms are applied. The use of clean, simple lines make the overall design feels modern, yet at the same time the textures and materials give a reminiscent of the old traditional Italian trattoria.
Pasta by the Park sets to be an enjoyable space that evokes the customers' feelings.
