Design Unit Architects (DUa) are an international award-winning architectural practice based in Kuala Lumpur. Recently completed projects include  'Factory in the Forest' in Penang, a multi award-winning facility for  Paramit , a Silicon Valley based US Electronics Company specializes in manufacturing medical & healthcare equipment.  The building featured on the RIBA International List 2018 for best new buildings worldwide & LEAF Award (Leading European Architects Forum) 'Best Commercial Building 2017', this project has also won several green awards for its low energy consumption including the ASEAN energy award. A lso recently completed is ‘Aemulus at the Runway’, the new HQ for electronics company Aemulus Corporation adjacent to Penang airport.   We are a design orientated practice who is passionate about architecture & the necessity of contact with nature central to our design philosophy. We work closely with our clients to create strong, meaningful concepts & follow up with good detailing & close site supervision to ensure contractors follow drawings & workmanship is of the highest possible standard. We are also passionate about designing & living sustainably and reducing energy consumption both to save costs for our clients & also to help our planet. Understanding the climate & passive design from project onset is crucial i.e. Building form, orientation & shading, maximizing natural light & ventilation & designing landscape as an integral element of each project. Several of our buildings, both commercial & residential have been awarded for their low energy consumption/green credentials and we look to design all our buildings with this philosophy.
