San Miguel Corporation (SMC) teams up with several global firms to create a world-class airport.
In a statement Tuesday, the diversified conglomerate announced that it has partnered with Groupe ADPi, Meinhardt Group and Jacobs to design the New Manila International Airport (NMIA) in Bulacan. These international companies have also lent their hands in designing Singapore's Changi Airport, the US' Atlanta Airport, and France's Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The Department of Transportation's bids and awards committee is set to meet tomorrow for final deliberations on SMC's unsolicited proposal to build the new airport. The department is expected to award the project to SMC within the week.
"This is our biggest investment in a single project to date, one that will definitely impact the lives of millions of Filipinos and the country in general - all the more reason for us to push for greater sustainability and choose the best people to work with us," said SMC President and COO Ramon Ang in the statement.
