The market had long-recognized the need for better smoke detection, and in 1974, Gentex introduced the world's first dual-cell photoelectric smoke alarm. It quickly became the commercial industry benchmark because it is less prone to false alarms and designed to quickly detect slow, smoldering fires. This technology became the foundation for our current products, and today, millions of Gentex smoke detectors and signaling devices can be found in schools, dormitories, hotels and hospital buildings throughout North America and the world.

Sealand Resources was established in 1971 as a fire equipment and hardware distribution company to capitalize on the strong growth in regional oil and gas market segments. Since then, we have grown to specialize in engineered Fire Detection and Suppression Systems for high value installation including Data Centers, Telco Equipment, Oil and Gas facilities, Commercial Kitchens, and the Marine market. Our highly experienced engineering team can design, assemble, and package systems to meet almost any industrial and commercial fire suppression needs.

When the company first started, the primary markets were Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Through gradual expansion over the years, our sales and distribution network now covers South East Asia, North East Asia, and the Middle East markets.
