Adhesive Selection
Choose a high bond strength adhesive, i.e. class C2. For applications that are subjected to movement or vibrations, choose an adhesive with deformable property, i.e. class C2/S1 (reference standards ISO 13007-1 and BS EN 12004).
Curing of screed & render mortars
Screed and render mortars must be cured before tiling or proceeding with subsequent applications.
For swimming pool
Provide tentage or shelter from direct sunlight and rain during installation and curing. Always allow sufficient time for curing before filling the pool with water. When using a normal-setting cementitious adhesive, allow 21 days or curing.
Presence of dust, dirt/contaminants
Ensure that the receiving surface is clean. Use a clean damp sponge to clean the substrate as well as the back of the tile to remove any dust/contaminants before placing tile on surface.
Adhesive's open time
Tiles should be placed within the adhesive’s “Open Time” (i.e. the time interval for the adhesive mix to be applied and be covered with tile). Always spread the adhesive mix within arm’s length distance or not more than 1m2, and quickly cover it with tile.
