German polymer company, REHAU, and Indonesian company PT Polymindo Permata â owner of the VIRO brand, announced their business division collaboration which targeting the woven material for furniture during the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2019 at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. The RAUCORD product under the umbrella brand REHAU will merge with VIRO Fiber effective as of today, in line with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Johan Yang, Executive Vice President of PT Polymindo Permata and David Herensperger, Chairman for South East Asia of REHAU Ltd.
âAs an Indonesian company, it is an honor for Viro to be able to collaborate with a global company operating at the scale of REHAU. We hope that this collaboration can continue to support the development of the domestic woven material manufacturing industry with a transfer of advanced knowledge from Germany and local creative ability equipped with a strong marketing network,â said Johan Yang, Executive Vice President of PT Polymindo Permata.
In this collaboration, VIRO will be responsible for producing polymer-based woven fiber targetted for domestic and international furniture makers. Meanwhile, the role of marketing and sales will be taken on by REHAU, who currently has a network in more than 170 locations in more than 50 countries and who will also help in terms of technology supervision. Therefore, all of RAUCORD and ViroFiber products marketted in Indonesia and internationally will be produced in VIROâs factory located in Tangerang.

VIRO and REHAU have been the two main players in polymer-based non-natural furniture material supply in Indonesia and globally since 20 years ago. Seeing the increased business competition and the continuously changing market demand, both companies have agreed to merge their business lines to offer greater benefit for consumers, particularly from an innovation perspective. The collaboration hopes to open up new opportunities in discovering new formulas to develop polymer-based furniture material to meet the needs of the current generation, including for a more environmentally friendly, highly competitive and high quality products.
Currently, exsiting RAUCORD and ViroFiber products are still accessible for consumers in Indonesia and the world. The product collaboration between the two companies is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of this year. A joint booth between VIRO and REHAU can also be found at D030 at the IFEX 2019 which will be held from 11 â 14 March 2019 at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
