Rockfon : Introducing a new state-of-the-art OMNI production line

In January 2019, Rockfon made a new evaluation and decided to invest in a more innovative production line for their Cigacice factory in Poland. The new line allows for the production of all dimensions, edges, paint technologies and surface treatments while also improving product quality and increasing efficiency — all whilst reducing environmental impact credentials. By doing so, not only are they able to take advantage of the latest technology available, but they are also setting themselves up nicely for future growth opportunities.

"Despite the last few years of turbulence with regards to COVID-19, shortages, and inflation, we continue to grow in our stone wool ceiling tile business across Europe and beyond. Thanks to these results, we decided to invest in capacity expansion in our Cigacice factory by investing in a high-volume line. This production line was operational in Q1 2022 and will serve all markets that Rockfon operates in," said Parik Chopra, Managing Director of Rockfon Europe & Asia.

By investing in a new two-story building with extra offices, maintenance and social rooms, wastewater handling as well as compressors, it can help further support the OMNI line and TOC (Theory of Constraints) options. With an extra 9400 m2 of production space, the line can help increase total capacity by 40% compared to the previous line. Additionally, to facilitate the growth in manufacturing and to meet the high levels of customer demand, warehouse space for stone wool has increased by 50%, area for raw materials by 30%, and for Rockfon finished products by 25%.

“The whole building journey and ramping up has been challenged all the way from Covid to material shortages. Thanks to a RockSolid cooperation between suppliers, local government, engineering teams, and operations, we have managed to start up a state-of-the-art production setup based on 60 year of production knowledge. We have been incorporating a lot of learnings regarding safety, quality, sustainability, and efficiency in order to produce excellent products,” emphasised Mostafa Alkhamrichi, Operations & Development Director of Rockfon Europe and Asia.
