Basic geometric design using screen, glass and brick wall. Keeping simplicity as an overriding characteristic using sharp lines.
The 2 units of 2 1/2-storey bungalows sit at the end of the cal-de-sac at Tok Sira, a low density residential area with view of Bukit Pelindung at a distance in Kuantan. The design is based on collage of two cubes and a horizontal rectangle glass box covered with a second skin using aluminium box sections. Both bungalows are connected through a timber deck courtyard and a 30m lap pool.
Passive design was strategized with an optimized zoning, natural ventilation, horizontal projection, water body, sunscreens to enhance human comfort, and lush greenery to block west sun.
The side facades of the building facing east and west, vertical aluminium sun shade screen are incorporated to provide effectively reduce sunlight and heat penetration into the building. Other than that, the screen also acts as security feature.
