About Upstairs_

UPSTAIRS_ is a Singapore-based collaborative spatial design studio established in 2011. Helmed by Dennis Cheok, an architect-by-training and chronic design busybody, the studio thrives on process-driven design solutions and hands-on experimentation; with a penchant for pushing new boundaries in traditional crafts, material innovation, and increasingly often, digital-technological-thingamabobs. Collaborating fastidiously with clients, brands, creative minds, artists and personalities, the project oeuvre diversifies between three-dimensional spaces and objects, to two-dimensional brand identity and graphics; and everything else in-between. The studio has since garnered regional and international attention for its bespoke approach, and is especially pleased to be featured alongside the best international design studios in Frame Magazine’s  Powershop 4 (Netherlands), and invited as one of 40 emerging Singaporean artists and designers to design an object for Singapore Art Museum (MADE FOR SAM).
