The team at eggersmann Dallas was thrilled to be invited to design this Southwest contemporary renovation. The ambitious project required 9 months from initial discussions to installation.
Designer Denise McGaha sent us beautifully illustrated architectural drawings from Bernbaum-Magadini. Denise’s team, the builder, and the client met with us in our Dallas showroom to discuss the scope of the project, finishes, and appliances.
The client owned a home in Ruidoso and wanted this home to feel like that as it was her favorite home. Denise and eggersmann Dallas designer, Kegan, termed the aesthetic “Southwestern Contemporary” with choices of organic, clean, yet luxurious, materials. After going back and forth on different ideas, the client stood up, turned around to face our work’s kitchen display and said, “This is what I want. Make it work.” And we took it from there. During our initial meeting, we also looked at finishes for the client’s office, pantry, and primary baths, but there were still many unknowns. The client commented that this was her first time designing something contemporary or modern and she did not want anything high-maintenance or fussy. She wanted her home to be unique and out-of-the-ordinary from other contemporary homes.
A few days later, Kegan met with Denise to present the kitchen, but also had the office and primary bath designs ready to present as well. At the end of the presentation meeting, to our surprise, she said “I’m meeting with the client two weeks from tomorrow and we are flying to her home in Ruidoso to see what we can incorporate into this home. I want you to have all 16 rooms designed, dimensioned, and printed with renders the day before the flight. I will have my assistant swing by and pick them up so I can present to client during the flight.”
While satisfying that request was stressful, it was also exciting. As promised, the eggersmann designs for the entire home were delivered and the client agreed to move forward with every area with only a few changes.
