The Phifer Tradition

In 1952 J. Reese Phifer established Phifer Incorporated in Tuscaloosa, Ala. (USA) as a weaver of aluminum insect screening. Today, the company is the world’s largest producer of aluminum and fiberglass insect screening products. When Phifer began production in 1952, the two main goals were to excel in quality and in service. Phifer has kept this commitment to our customers for more than six decades and remains dedicated to continuing to provide quality products and quality service for years to come.

Throughout the years, the company’s weaving expertise has broadened and expanded to include a wide variety of innovative woven fabrics. Phifer’s interior sun control and exterior sun control fabrics offer heat reduction at window areas for both commercial and residential applications.

Stylish, high-performance designed fabrics for use in outdoor furniture, cushions and umbrellas, include an array of intricately woven fabrics in dobbies, wicker, stripes, jacquards and various blends that reflect the latest fashion trends.

With more than 60 years of wire drawing experience, Phifer has developed drawn wire products for traditional and specialized applications. Working to meet manufacturers’ custom needs worldwide, Phifer manufactures engineered products of metal and textile meshes for a wide variety of industrial applications.

Master weavers, Phifer also manufactures woven products for specialty markets including pet care, filtration, contract furniture, wall covering, automotive, ventilation, reinforcement, awning and marine.

We offer a broad range of products to reduce solar heat gain, to preserve interior surfaces and materials, to improve the indoor air quality of home and work environments, and to protect natural resources by conserving energy. Primary manufacturing and corporate offices are located in our state-of-the-art facilities in Tuscaloosa, Alabama U.S.A. Phifer Incorporated complies with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, also referred to as the Conflict Minerals Rule. This requires manufacturers and suppliers to disclose whether their products contain gold, tin, tantalum or tungsten regardless of where they are sourced. Phifer is committed to complying with this directive, the aim of which is to stop funding of violent conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo and surrounding countries. Phifer uses none of the minerals mentioned above in the production of its products.
